Not long ago I was having problems with a FAL doubling and sent the rifle to AZEX for service. I was surprised at how fast the turn around time was for the repair as they had the rifle for less than one week. Derek also phoned and informed me of the service they performed. Derek is an extremely talented and is definitely akin to Fals as Stratavarius was to violins!

I had to make up for that HK somehow, that took forever to get right.

Derek does really great work really fast. He had three rifles repaired, refinished and back to me in three months time, and it would have been even faster if the anodizing on some aluminum hadn't slowed things down. That's one rifle per month.

I have had rifles at various smiths for seemingly simple jobs that took anywhere from 7 months to a year depending on their backlog. Yes, I realized the smiths were busy and typically stated there would be a long wait. I accepted the wait time and their craftsmanship was superb. However, considering the excellent work and the fast turn around I will be using Derek from now on.

Derek built an HK from a Port kit for me a couple years ago. It is nice, and one of my favorite rifles. Time-wise it did take awhile longer than expected due to his work load and a shop move, but while "frustrating" for a "Want it YESTERDAY" sorta guy (me) the wait was worth it. Its a "bet your life" rifle I hope to have for the rest of my loooong life. Derek is good at what he does and I recommend his work highly.

Derek built several FAL's for me along with an....dare I say it here...an AR-15

. He does excellent work!
