Here she is....
DSA SA-58 S/S Carbine, ARMS #3 "original" rail cover, LaRue Tactical LT100 QD mount, and Trijicon TA11-D ACOG (full-size - 5.56mm calibration). ![]() ![]() Notice the smooth transition the ARMS makes with the receiver... This was one factor that swayed me over the DSA, besides easily removed... ![]() ![]() Some views through the ACOG... one of the CLEAREST & BRIGHTEST "combat" scopes I have ever looked through... ![]() ![]() Rmpl

i have a acog on my daewoooo max2..it has the kikest azzz release on it..its very similar to yours..it has th e2 levers you just swivel forward to release.. I swapped it over to my full size fal..on the arms#3 ..and it clamps on PERFECT!!.. My question is..I am going to need one of those style quick releases on the GP COP mount i hope to receive soon from them.. what are those quick release's called..are they exclusivly built for acogs? btw..that sure is pretty |

Man that is really nice!
Thanks for posting the pics. The views through the scope are especially cool. Gonna have to get one some day. I'm inspired now, Flyer |

Post-Range UPDATE:
Put through about 180 rounds today... here are my thoughts on the ARMS #3 & ACOG setup. Very SWEET! I zero'ed in at 100yards using Hirtenberger and found that most of my various surplus ammo was pretty close to Hirt. POA (+- 1"~2"). No failures whatsoever after gas settings dialed in...I used the 5.56mm TA11-D as that is the one I own and it came off of a Colt 20" A2 that became the donor for the FAL... no other reason. Eye relief was NO PROBLEM! Even when I barely had a strong grip on the rifle as I was benchresting it for accuracy, allowing it to jump more, the ACOG never hit my eye area. The full-size ACOGS have a very generous eye relief. Without the TA11-D, I think my eye may have been popped a few times with a shorter eye relief ACOG... [BD] This one works out PERFECT! Check weld NEEDS WORK! It was OK but could definetly be better with a quality cheekrest. I found a nylon one at the gun show with three different velcro riser pads, all different heights, but the smallest pad was still TOO TALL. I estimate a cheekpad height of 1" would be almost perfect. I still need to fart around with this nylon one to see if I can remove some padding... ARMS #3 rail cover gets dinged up pretty bad by the brass. The top lip over the ejection port has dents and gouges from brass. Rear edge also take a beating. Lots of brass "kisses" on the side of the mount right behind ejection port. I looked at brass closely (as I want to reload some of the BOXER brass) and could see no damge, so the hits the ARMS cover is taking doesn't appear to be hurting the brass as far as I can tell, which is good. There definetly is NO RETURNING this ARMS cover now... ![]() ![]() All in all, I'm very happy with this setup, so much so I have blue loctite'ed the ACOG screws with the Larue mount. The ARMS mount slides off with some slight taps with a small hammer and reinstalls easier now that it has been "fitted" to my rifle, so removing the Bolt and Carrier for cleaning is no big deal. ![]() ![]() Here is the best group of the day... using Hirtenberger 7.62x51 at 100yds benchrested with 3.5x ACOG. The flyer was the first shot after I cleaned barrel during break-in. The first shots after a cleaning were off of the second and following shots. Lake City XM80 was a close second, with Aussie and SA a distant third and fourth... ![]() Without ever owning a DSA mount, I cannot be objective... but I do highly recommend this setup at this time. More range time may change that opinion, but I doubt it... Rmpl |
