I.D. HELP ON THIS MUZZLE DEVICE
Could someone please ID this muzzle device for me? It's on a recent FAL I just bought, and I don't like it. I want one of Moses' hurricane flash hiders.

Is that a set-screw?

Yes, it has a set screw on the top and bottom. It also looks like it was pressed on. I can't see any threads. I want to replace it, but i also don't want to destroy it in the removal process.

Uhhhh...you don't want to destroy the POS thing now on the end of the barrel?
I'm not sure I understand why. Set-screw muzzle devices were a bad idea from the git-go. I wouldn't use one even for a paper weight. Anyhow, I'd loosen the set screws, and see if it just slides off. If its still stuck after you loosen the screws, put a MAPP torch on it for a few minutes and see if you can unscrew it, or twist it loose. BTW, if you heat it with a MAPP torch, it will still be hot even after the reddish color subsides. AMHIK.

W.E.G. I wasn't aware it was a POS. That's why I asked for help in ID'ing it.I don't own a torch, so if it's just junk, couldn't I use a pipe wrench instead? If it worked, would that get me into the WECSOG club?

Is the muzzle right at the end of the device? If so it might be an Argy CD that was reamed to convert to a slip on.

1811GNR. Nope, the muzzle only protrudes about 1/8 inch into the device. Then the device opens up into a small chamber. At the business end it closes back down to near bore diameter. What I don't like is the vents on the top are pionting away from the muzzle, thus adding to felt recoil.Besides,Moses hiders look awsome.

Looks like the one that came on my early Hesse. When you get it off check the crown, mine had been cut with a chop saw but not crowned and it was crooked.

The reciever is an Imbel gear logo, imported and built by Pacific Arms. I'm not sure of the kit origin tho', I'm more into Isreali and Soviet arms. Anyway, I'm removing it tomorrow at work. I'll post the results of what I find regarding the muzzle crown.
