front sight removal

Have 2 G-1s that I can't get the front sights off of.Already ruined one sight tool,& tried heat. Just doesn't budge. I got kits from Tasco,anybody else have this problem.HELPPPPPPPP!

Had the same problem.I just took a punch and tapped it till it came loose.Thats when you notice all the caked on crud.

Soak down with your favorite penetrating oil. Kroil, PB Baster, WD-40 etc have been used with success. Then let the part sit for a week or two. After the oil has worked on the old carbon, the sight will turn out easily.

You have to let it sit for longer than humanly possible.
