SAR 4800 muzzle attachment removal

This is on an SAR4800 that I'm buying (I don't have it yet - just the photo). The seller tell me he thinks that its a "pinned muzzle brake" but he's not sure. From the looks of it, it does appear to be a brake of some sort.

Any ideas/recommendations as to how to remove this?

I've removed pinned brakes from Century CETMEs before by very carefully cutting the brake laterally the length of the brake all the way through the ports (but not all the way through the part that attaches to the barrel. Then I drive a cold chisel through the cut port section - and the chisel wedges the metal apart and spreads the brake - breaking the final section open.

Is there a better way. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thats how i got a century brake off a CETME, and it worked great for me - no damage to the rifle, etc, but the brake was obviously fried

some have had luck sanding down the brake in the area the pin is located, then cold blueing it to highlight the pin (Different types of steel take bluing differently). Then take a drill/drill press and remove the pin that way. only problem i see with that is, you can end up enlarging the pin hole if you aren't really careful.(it'll be covered by the new attachment, but it doesn't sound good to me)

As long as you don't ding the crown or knock something out of alignment, i don't see what's wrong with the cut and break method, personally - it only took me about 15 minutes or less to do
