Bad gas block
I have a metric Fal put together from spare parts. After about 2-3 rounds the gas tube blows out of the gas block.I put a different tube in it but haven't had the chance to fire it yet.If the problem persists is there a fix other than replacing the gas block?

Do what the smith I sent one of mine to did, if you're a flaming halfass- drill the gas port WAY the hell open and pray for the best.
I'm sure you know you're better off just sucking it up and replacing it.

The soldering idea is an option.I have to get some more solder paste anyway.

As a general rule, one should check everything else before opening the gas port.
Of all the "problem" FALs sent to me by customers believing their ports needed opening...probably 80% were found to have other issues not related to port size. I've also noticed that some of the new gas tubes seem to have problems related to the thread profile. i.e...threads not cut to full depth. If one does manage to fully install it into the gas block, the inner diameter at the threaded end reduces slightly in size causing the piston to bind. Or in a few cases seize. I've had to finish cut the threads in a few, and ream a few others. Many also seem to believe chopping a couple of inches off the barrel necessitates opening the port. Not always the case. The first barrel I cut down, I opened the gas hole up to much and it blow every tube I put in it, you're right, don't open them unless you have to. It was .125 and that's way to much.
