Another New Mexico outing.

A few FAL'ers and I took a road trip yesterday. Here are a couple of pictures.

Along for the ride were a CETME, PTR91 and two Daewoos.

It was in the mid 90's.

We tore up a few rocks. Hard to believe, but no beer cans to be found.

Yeah, he also showed us some nice places to hunt fossils. Found a few nice ones.

That is my PTR... I highly recommend them. I haven't been this excited about a firearm since I built my first Imbel on Imbel...

In regards to the outing, myself, McDobber, vmtz and his son headed up north partway to Cuba to a spot that McDobber knew about. He was kind enough to share an area where you can find inverbrate and plant fossils as well as shark teeth. We found specimens of the former but not the latter. Thanks McDobber for sharing!
Also along was vmtz's precocious son. This four year old doesn't ask "why?" - he tells you why - just like a lawyer! That apple didn't fall far from that tree...
The kid was making remarks about my "tiny" knife that I was using to slice up an apple. Just like his old man - no slack!

A good time was had by all. I look forward to doing it again.

By the way, McDobber has joined the Daewoo brotherhood...

McD's shot really will. Hit every target that he pointed it at. But we gotta do something about CE. McD was telling us that CE told him to remove the gas piston to make it a single shot so he could save on ammo. Also fixed that nasty muzzle thing on his Daewoo.

And the knife, well Bugs makes some bing show like that Croc Dundee guy pulling out his knife, he cleared a ten foot circle around him before getting it out. And he pulls out this fingernail clipper thing with a knife.

We had a great time.

It is the newest toy. This is its third outing. It has become my rifle of choice as I go out to the boonies.

I let vmtz and McDobber slobber all over it... it's hard to get the saliva off.
I'll use flitz cloth. Next time I let them handle it I'm going to drape plastic over the top...

After he shot my PTR he had tears in his eyes as he hugged it to his chest...
I had to pry it from his fingers..

Yeah, sure, he was hugging yer PTR, but what about that time his old lady caught him in the bathroom, with a picture of a PTR?

I thought you might like to know, in case he asks to borrow it.

I had to smoke a cigarette after shooting the PRT.

The Daewoo functions great! Very nice rifle. All I need is a folding stock now.

Bug thought I had a 60 shot mag until he figured out I had changed mags. I'm blind fast for a fat man.

A good time was had by all.
