G1 FN FAL w sear cut QUESTION

A fellow is offering me a G1 FN FAL rifle, one of which he says were sold by imported by Browning in Utah. I understand these are rare and that they were grandfathered by the BATF as legal Semiautos.

I have also seen other "sear cut" FNs for sale, that are not in this lot of G1 rifles??

I vagly remember reading about this small lot of rifles. Can anyone enlighten me or direct me to a website?

Below the advertisement in the upper right of the screen is a row of buttons. The second to last says 'search'. Push that one. Search for "g series". Near the bottom left you tell it where to search. Search for titles only. Also tell it to search any date. You will find everything you always wanted to know and more.

G series and G-1 are two different rifles. G series rifles were imported commercially. The G-1 is the West German designation for their issue FAL. If the seller is confusing the two he either does not know what he is doing or is hoping that you don't.

The G's were also imported by Browning, the guns just are not marked by Browning.

I understand now. I did not realize that you were making the distinction between the two addresses. I had never paid attention before but you are quite right. The address on my G box is St. Louis and the Rogak is marked Utah.
