Someday, I know my continued posts will pay off!
I need a decent stock and/or handguards for the Steyr M 95 rifle (NOT the carbine) I've already checked with Numrich, where I got a fair walnut stock, but no handguards. Checked the guy in Tennessee too and nuthin' Any leads or thoughts? Email direct or leave a note here. Thanks Greg O

I hope your continued posts pay off too.
I am keeping my eye out for a m95 long rifle stock as well. The one on mine is buggered and sanded and has what appears to be wood putty in some of the dents and cuts. The handguard has a repaired crack that is no big deal compared to the stock. I have been fighting the urge to get one from Gunparts hoping a too actually see one before buying. At least the extractor is good. Check out these boards if you are not already. http://p077.ezboard.com/fparallaxscu...rmsforumsfrm81 http://www.gunboards.com/forums/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=10 Good luck. Post if you get one. JR Last edited by Rotor; June 23, 2005 at 17:02. |

Was this one of the C&R specials Centerfire Systems had?

Celt
If you can believe it, the Steyr M95 long rifle was my first gun. When he saw my interest as a kid my Grandfather showed me this one day when I was in first grade. I assume he bought it at a local gun shop in Buffalo in the early 70's. It had to live at his house but it was to be mine someday. I do believe the bolt was taped shut with a wad of electricians tape until I was 12 or 13. I never have shot it. Not the best starter rifle. Maybe some day. Time was "S" ammo was not around much. Thanks JR |

If you want to restore it for sentimental reasons, your only real bet is to find a long rifle as a donor...
I have been looking for a complete rifle for some time and only find carbines...

M1950: Nope, this is one that I got for $89 ( yeah no shi*!) back around 1987 or so from somebody in Joliet Illinois, now defunct I believe.
Arashi: I hit the Crossroads Gun Show in Phoenix AZ back in the latter part of April. I found TWO M95 long rifles there. One was a demilled one but the stock was there. Condition was fair to poor and the handguard had a good sized crack through it. Price was $65 and although I might have chucked the rest, I thought it was a bit too much work on the wood needed to clean up. in hindsight, That might have been another boo boo on my part. Another dealer had a functioning M95 long and wanted $165 for it, but still that dark walnut. I tend to think if we could get a decent sized gun show here in Michigan, I'd be quite optimistic about finding them. Rotor: Email heading your way in a day or so. G'night guys! Greg O
