Smile First FAL Project

I have been lurking around the site for a while now gathering info for my first build. The info and people here are the best! I finally took the plunge and ordered an IMBEL kit. Got Gunplummer's video which was invaluable in the build. I bought an IMBEL GL upper. I refinished all parts in matte black GunKote which turned out great! For compliance parts I use H/S and keep the original trigger, Penquin economy handguards, grip, and butt stock, Tapco charging handle and gas piston. Replace the stock dust cover with a Tapco 4th gen site base dust cover. Not sure that I will mount a scope on it, it just looks better than the stock dust cover.

No problems with the build. Lower receiver when together without problems. Barrel timed correctly. Headspaced to .259. Order correct LS from GPG. They were great and will order from them for future builds. Everything is smooth as silk after final assembly. Have a case SA ammo for testing. Now I just have to get to the range for test firing. Once I get a digital camera I will post some pics.

Thanks to all for the great info here! I've caught the bug and now have STG58 waiting to be built! These thing are addictive!

Congrats on the first build and there is no cure for the addiction!
