Numrich AK kit stupidity

Numrich AK kit

Apparently Numrich does so much business with the C2/C3 community that they don't want any business from lowly peons like myself

Well you shouldn't be looking to buy a Romanian kit from Numbnut Arms anyway. Order from Bocefus in the marketplace or Centerfire. Less money and a lot less hassle. I mean you won't have to go through all the hoops of getting a Class 2 or 3 license for a parts kit

Yeah, I wasn't really going to order from them anyway. I just ran across their webpage in my travels and it really steamed me good. I have a feeling that Bocefus and centerfire will both be seeing some of my money in the near future.

Haven't dealt with Centerfire, but I would recommend Bocefus.

Over the years buying parts from Numrich my luck has been so-so. About half the time you get some used parts that are worst then your replacing. Rusted pitted parts that should have been throw out instead of being sold. Any more i avoid buying from them unless nobody else has the parts i need

I did notice that. Could be a zip-tied machinegun fiasco waiting to happen, although the autosear hole area is gone. Ya just never know.

Look at the pic again,.......it's cut about the same as others I've seen. The front section is just moved back to join the rear. Everything from the trigger forward to halfway thru the magwell is gone.

Email sent

I sent them an email yesterday in regards to this as well, I order a fair amount of small parts for antique rifles, things I can't find elsewhere most of the time, and I would be disappointed if they have a policy like this. As of yet I haven't received a response, but if I do I'll post it.

I have bought several kits from them. Centerfire is a two thumbs up affair.

I guess you're right kev, it just looks like there is more of the rec. left. The real question is: Will ATF prosecute on the basis of an optical illusion?

Ok

Well, here's the email I got back from Numrich's.

"Dear Daniel,

We recently found out that this is not necessary for the purchase of the kit. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me again.

Thank You,

Nancy
Web Services"

The link still shows the requirements, perhaps they will change it soon.

My email to Numrich...and their reply:

From your web site..."NOTE: CERTAIN DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE THIS PART. PLEASE CHOOSE THE "PRINTER FRIENDLY FORMAT" WHEN YOU CHECK OUT AND FAX OR MAIL YOUR ORDER WITH ANY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: 1) COPY OF FORM 4 LISTING THE FIREARM THAT PARTS ARE BEING ORDERED FOR; 2) COPY OF CLASS II MANUFACTURES LICENSE; OR 3) COPY OF CLASS III DEALER LICENSE. IF WE RECEIVE YOUR ORDER WITHOUT PROPER DOCUMENTATION, THIS ITEM WILL BE CANCELLED"
NONE of the above documentation is required by BATFE, or any other government entity, when purchasing a "parts kit" because a parts kit is NOT a firearm. To my knowlwdge, no other distributors currently selling ANY AK kits require any of the above documentation as it is not necessary. Why are you requiring it?
Thanks.

Just like Vince said, they are a thumbs up company. I have bought numerous small parts from them and have always been satisfied.
