.303 Greek HXP 71, corrosive or Non ?
Help !
Found a few 48 round boxes of the HXP 71 .headstamp 303 British today. The ammo looks super clean. Even the boxes, original packaging, are excellent. My recollection was that it was decent stuff. I scarffed up five boxes. They had a few more left. If non-corrosive for sure, I'll probably buy the rest they had. Has to be a lot better than the Paki stuff that's around. |

My understanding is that it's non-corrosive. I have a couple of cases of it left, and fired about a case of it several years ago. I never had any problems related to corrosive primers in this ammo, but then, I always clean my guns as if corrosive ammo was used.
This stuff has been advertised almost everywhere it was sold as being non-corrosive. Also, most of it is boxer primed. Mine is/was... It's quite good ammo. Buy all that you can. |

Congratulations on a great find! Greek HXP .303 was the "gold standard" of Lee-Enfield shooters until it dried up a couple of years ago. I would purchase all that's available if you want some fine ammunition. Given that there is virtually no high quality .303 surplus available, I don't think .25-.30 cents a round is unreasonable.

Thanks for the help. I had thought it was supposed to be good.
Price was $ 10.50 a box of 48 rounds plus 6% sales tax. I seem to remember paying $ 8 a box three or four years ago. Wish I had stocked up then. |

I'd be interested in buying some if any of you gents would PM me or point me in the right direction. Either with what you have of the Greek or where I could obtain some.
