H & K Pistol trigger pull.

Anyone know of a SAFE yet reliable method of lightening the trigger pull on the Heckler & Koch VP70Z pistol. This gun is striker fired, NO hammer. Great gun, with it's 18 plus one round capacity but the trigger pull must be 10 to 15 lbs. I really like the gun but wow, that pull is really hard to get used to. Any good suggestions, other than get rid of the damn gun and get something else - but not very many have this potential firepower. Blaster (Bob in CO)

It's inherent in the design; nothing can be done. It's one of the first of the DAO pistols and when you pull the trigger you first have to cock the striker before release. It's a long, fairly heavy pull and has often been compared to a staplegun. DAO triggers have gotten slightly better thru redesign, but it has taken 30 years to do it. There's not much that can be done about the basic design of the HK.

kev, thanks for the information. Looks like I'll have to live with the L O N G trigger pull. Guess I'd better just gain a little more strength in my trigger finger. Thanks!

Naw, I sure won't fart around with the trigger spring. I DO know better. I guess the upside of this is that a shooter has a little more time to think the situation over while going through that L O N G trigger pull. Blaster (Bob in CO)

Too bad we couldn't get a few VP70M's over here... Those would be fun.

Right on MikeC..... If I remember correctly, the VP70M were the VERY VERY fast shooting versions of the VP70Z's....right?? But naturally Big Bro and our elected ding-a-lings in D.C. don't want us to enjoy such fun things.
