FN-FAL G series buy it?
Hi again guys. I am posting a new thread to try and get a value on this piece. Like the other thread I posted, it has the G series serial number G9xx, but it has 4 holes on the right side of the receiver, where the markings are. Looks like maybe was for a scope mount. Is it still worth the $1500? Thanks.

NO !
depending on the condition, which you say is not good and has rust... and what variant, as in wood hg's, bs, etc... and the holes in the receiver...bout 500 bucks MAX... to me.... but again depending on pics to check the condition... shoulda filled us all in on the condition before buying, that g has been around for awhile now, and noone has bought it, so there was no hurry for you to do so... |

Hi guys. Everyone has a different opinon. I took it to the gun show, and showed it to a couple of fellows, and the first thing they asked was how much. I said make me an offer, and they offered a LOT more than I paid for it. So that made me feel better. Also, they said it was fairly rare, because it is what they called a "lightweight", with alloy frame and dust cover. So we will see. I can get the 4 holes repaired, and the receiver refinnished for $400-$500. The same fellows told me if they owned it, they would not take less than $3500-$4000 for it ( and their idea of what they would give for it, mirrors this value). I don't think I will mess with getting it fixed, just trade it off as-is.

Its a Belgium shooter.
No it doesnt have the value of a G, but it is certainly worth more then $500. I would give $1600-$2000 for it

Hi John. Thanks for your thread. It is unbelievable what kind of feedback I have gotten, on this forum, and especially through email. Much more interest through email, than what is being said here. Also, no one has answered me as yet, how much harder to find/rare is the "lightweight". I have not decided what to do with it yet. Like I said, I should have stayed with my Browning pistols and old tractors. These are what I love the most in my hobby life, not the B.S. I have been hearing from a lot of folks. Wish I had just left the damn thing lie where it was.

There is a breakdown on the forums of the lightwieghts versus the normal ones, check the Eureka threads in the Reference section.
Note: Splattermatic is a great guy, he just really likes safe queens, which your G-series isnt.
