Range report and another new gun
Finally after 2 weeks I forced myself to the range (life sucks when you have to force yourself
)Anyway the gun was one of the closeout Steyr M40's from CDNN. This gun points better, has less recoil and is way more accurate than any Glock I had owned Several hundred rounds without any failure using PMC and Speer Gold dots. I even mixed rounds in the magazine's and tried to limp wrist. Not one failure. The trigger is similar to Glock's in design but there the similarity ends. Much less take up, 100% smoother without the spongie feel, crisp let off and way shorter reset. My small hands felt perfect on this gun and the grip is much nicer. Also just got one of the closeout Walther P99's Military green frame, black slide and a double action striker fired gun that has second strike ability and can be carried cocked in single action mode. This one also feels great in the hand. Might just have to force myself to the range again next week.

"Forced myself to the range", huh?
![]() Damn! I wish I had that problem! Been raining here every w/e for the past month., and raining AGAIN now! I have a sweet, new AG42-B that's dyin' some action. ![]() I've handled and shot both of the pieces you mention, and have the same conclusions. The Steyr seems a little blocky in the top end to me, but handled pretty good. I have considered the Walter as a "next" gun, but there's too many unshot/ignored pistolas in the stable already to justify another Here's to "forcing" yerself some more! ![]() Paul

We need a range report on the AG-42B when you finally get around to shooting her... I really regret not picking one up when they were cheaply available about ten (or was it more) years ago. Forrest And madecov, I think that the Steyr handguns feel really good in the hand too. Enjoy yours... Forrest |

CDNN, what we would do without those buggers.
I got myself SIG PRO in 9mmSIG Magnum and I`m very much impressed. It cost 100 bucks more than Steyr but came with five mags (one 12 rd, four 10 rd...) plus fat replacement grip if somebody need it. I found it to be best made plastic gun I saw. It shoot great and thanks to heavy slide kick with magnum round feel like regular 9mm PARA out of 226. Accuracy is outstanding. Steyr is OK gun, but it is cheap looking, sites are wierd too. I wonder bout Steyr future on US market. I decided ageinst it and went for SIG... |

I also picked up a SIG 229 two tone mint with night sights
FN 9mm Hi-Power Walther P99 AS trigger and a few SIG 220's that I have since sold The Steyr is really very nice. I am very impressed. The sights though strange actually are very intuitive. I agree about the future of Steyr being questionable. But as somone who HAD several Glock's, I have to say the Steyr is a way nicer pistol
