Nazi Stamp Unique French made
At my local gunshop they just got this in trade. French made Unique in 32 caliber nine shot in v.g. shape. It need a little work the hammer cocks but the trigger will not release it. What odd about it has the Nazi stamping. I have see the Astra,Stars, Mas 1935a and a few other but this is the first Unique i have seen with the marking. Anybody have any idea what it worth. Any history on them

To summarize what little LtC. R. Whittington has to say in his book...On June 22, 1940 an armistice was signed with the Vichy French government which stipulated the town of Hendaye would be occupied by the Germans . The Pyrenees factory was soon placed under their supervision. On the 26th of June the motorized forces entered the town, and the Pyrenees factory was place under their supervision. The production of the Unique model 17 continued with the serial numbers commencing at 1 to approximately 56,000. At that time the germans improved it and became their "Kriegsmodell", with over 25,000 pistols manufactured before the liberation in 1944.
I have no idea of value, perhaps someone else can opine.
