Korean Korrosive?
I purchased 2,060 rounds form Sportsman Guide at $.13 pop. I think they listed it as Korean mfg, berden primed and corrosive.
The headstamp starting at 12:00 is: .308W , o , 82 , o It has a red sealant around the primer. Pale green 20 rd. box with: 20 pcs .308 Winchester (7,62 x 51) Is this Sellier and Bellot? Corrosive? Is it crap? Seems to shoot OK but not sure how accurate it is because it is the only ammo I've put through my FAL so far. I have a box of Winchester Super X to shoot on my next trip to compare. It does go bang (after I put the correct hammer spring for my SAR 4800 Match back in!). Thanks, Eddy |

.308 ammo
That is Czech GI mfg. 7.62NATO ammo. Made for Contract sales to those using 7.62NATO caliber weapons. It is good quality ammo....it does however have CORROSIVE primers. So clean 'em, or Rust 'em!!!!

Thanks for the info ammolab. With Sellier and Bellot being Cz, it must be from them. A picture of SB ammo shows the same pale green box. Anyway, thanks for the info. Yes, I clean it several times with water, windex, whatever and have kept corrosion at bay.

I had some Czech 7.62x51 dated 1968 I thought and it was corrosive.Maybe it was 1989.I thought it was marked "68" but maybe I was reading it wrong and it was "89".It was Czech but I'm not sure it was S&B.It was packed in military packaging. What made me think it wasn't S&B besides the headstamp was the fact that it was steel cased.
