Will a metal buttplate fit on an STG syn stock?

I'd like to put a metal plate on a STG stock for 2 reasons. Reduce LOP, and Reduce weight.

Can it be done? I dont have either of these so I cant do any "testing" myself. Its for my next build.

if I remember right, the austrian straight comb stock isn't tall enough for the buttplate, so the answer is no.

Without actually taking the butplate off of the wood stock, it looks doable. Build up the StG under the metal plate with some good epoxy 1/16 to an 8th.
This is not to say that the screw hole is in the right place.
