hello: I just bought a couple of black handles for the M1-garand bayonet, and one of the handles, has a miniature crack that goes from the threaded part of the handle (center) towards the front of the handle on the inside but it does not goes all the way. so you can not see it from the outside. what is the best way to fix it? and what type of glue should I use? I looked at the crack with my
10x loupe and if you squeeze it together you can see some little bit of some type of liquid coming from the crack, maybe is WD-40 or what ever they used to clean them up. so I guess I have to degrease it too uh? is going to be hard to do because that crack is so small. I tought of leaving it alone, but if I tight the two handles together with the screw, that crack may get worse.. so that is my fear. any help will be apreciated. thank you very much. javier.

My first instinct would be to dremel it out a little (go a little past the end of the crack), then ad 2 part epoxy. You can add color (black) to it. Likely, the epoxy will be stronger than the original plastic (bakelite?).
