Question about AR.
Ok fellas I have a question.
Since my FAL is at ARS getting a "makeover" I felt I needed a LITTLE something to have around incase the Mongol hordes invaded. So, I looked around and found a nice little 16" AR for a good price. (my first one) Here's the question: It is a "post-ban" type upper with no flash suppressor or bayo-lug. The bayo-lug I can live without, but I would like an evil flash suppressor (like a vortex or panther) on it. How much trouble would it be to get that done? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

to a gunsmith not a problem, as I can imagine they are kept pretty busy putting FH on for folks........if you plan on doing it, you are going to have to spend some money for a die cutter, and guide.....which for a one time use I think that would be a waste of money.....I would have it sent out to a reputable smith to have it done....... about middle of next year, after the smiths have their calendars cleared from backlogged from doing all of these conversions to "evil features" for anybody with a rifle......that way you can still shoot and enjoy the rifle, instead of waiting 4 or more months for a FH.....that in all reality is nothing more then just a cosmetic feature, and won’t make the rifle shoot any better with it on.

Standard thread for AR muzzle attatchments is 1/2x28. Any decent gunsmith could do it for a few bucks.

I sent my Bushy upper to Tony Rumore at Tromix a couple of weeks ago to get a flash hider installed and he did the work the same day he received the upper and sent it back to me the next day. Looks great and fast work. Cost was 35 bucks for the machine work and flash hider plus shipping. I can heartily recommend him.

Had mine done at ADCO, sent it off, they sent it right back perfect, installed a Bushy Phantom, check them out on the web, great to do business with.
