Receiver for AMD?
Since these kits are readily available, not to mention reasonable i'm wondering where i could get a MILLED receiver for same.
My Bulgarian AK is milled and it's running away, the best i've ever owned. So if i'm going to put one of these kits together (ok, ok, I'M not going to, but maybe i can persuade gunplumber to do it FOR me) and i'd just as soon not mess with the stamped stuff. Is this feasible or am i dreaming?

The AMD takes a stamped receiver. If you want a milled receiver its generally a seperatly designed system where the barrel is pressed into the receiver. There usually noted as stamped or milled kits. The stamped receiver is 16 gauge steel and very strong.

I would think that it would all depend upon the size of the trunion in the milled receiver and the diameter of the barrel on the AMD kit. If you could get a match there then you could probably press it all together and make it work. It sounds like a lot of extra work for something that was intended to have a stamped receiver though. I would take a look over at the Firing line and see what they say.
