Please recomend a between the pants and belt hoslter

I am leaning towards the Del Fatti BPB Snap On http://www.delfatti.com/webdoc2.html for my Walther PPK, does any one know of any other alternatives or have other recomendations?

I've tried a couple "in between" holsters and did'nt like them, even with small autos, but I'm pretty "healthy" too

That one in particular looks bulky, too complicated and very limited in placement.

I know my different pants have slight differences in the location of the loops. With that holster using a belt loop to hold the rear of it, you'r pistol location is governed by you'r pant style. Not by where it's most comfortable, retainable and fastest for you to get. And if you dont keep you'r belt tight or have a loop right in front of the front holster loop, it's going to want to slide foward.

Personally, I've come to like the speed scabard, belt slide and avenger from Galco the best. I place them strong side over my kidney. With most pants they usually straddel a belt loop, but with some I go behind the loop. In either case, I pull them all the way foward against it. That makes it comfortable even in the car, well concealed, easy to retain and dosent pull foward when you draw.

If you'r really serious about that one, maybe theres a dealer close by that you can put one on and at least see how it fit's for you. I dont order sight unseen holsters, unless I've worn the same model from the same manufacturer before.

I know all about having boxes full of holsters that you really dont like, or more like a few 20gal size tupperware's full in my case. I'd see people do that all the time when I had my store. Buy a new holster, drop $50-100. and wear it for about a week before it never saw day light again. I used to take trade-in's too, if they were for popular guns and hardly used. You never know what your dealer might have around untill you ask, always worth a shot and saves some $$$

Regardless of how slim the gun, it will stretch out your pants belt in one area, making it a very sloppy belt. Even with a good belt made for carrying the weight of a gun (DeSantis, Glaco, etc) it will make a bulge in that area. I have always just gone with an in the pants (IWB) if a belt or paddle holster wasn't going to fit the bill.

The Milt Sparks Summer Special II (SSII) is the most comfortable IWB I have used. Mine is for a 1911 btw, and has passed the "snooze on the couch" test.

Whatever you end up with, be sure to get a proper gun belt to go with it, as that has a lot to do with comfort. Milt Sparks is a very good choice there also.

Desantis Cozy Partner. Very affordable, and a good holster. It has "wings" designed into it that extend in front and in back of the gun, which keeps the gun from printing, and also distributes the pressure against your waist/hip so that it is comfortable. I have a Galco IWB rig that is twice the money, but without the "wings" design, and it digs into my hip as soon as I put it on. The Cozy Partner rides comfortably all day, and I carry a pistol IWB everywhere, always when I'm off duty.
I carried my full size Para P14 .45 all summer a couple of summers ago in this rig, and it gets HOT and HUMID here. The gun rode comfortably and concealed well.

Also, watch individual shooters and see what they use and how they do. When I first started shooting IDPA I used leather, then I noticed the good kydex guys were beating the good leather guys by a bit. So far I have tried several kydx holsters from Bladetech andUnle Mike's(IWB, belt, and paddle) and most haven't required any getting used to the shape and ride(which is good because nothing short of extreme heat is going to change their shape, don't squeak when new, and aren't on the road to ruin when exposed to sweat and water.

As a contrasting viewpoint, I love leather. Off-duty, I never use thumb break holsters, all of mine are open mouthed, so they don't put me at any disadvantage to the polymer holsters in terms of speed, and they certainly don't aren't as hard on the finish on my guns like some of the polymers can be.

I've been wearing the same IWB Desantis rig daily for about five-six years now, and Oklahoma summers have to be among the worst in terms of sweat.
I use my exact same off duty leather and gear shooting IDPA to keep things real. (with the exception of adding a single mag carrier since IDPA requires me to have three mags)

A pocket holster is also an alternative.

In warm weather, I'm much more likely to drop an Airweight J-Frame S&W or Kel Tec P-32 in a pants pocket than go to the trouble of wearing a 1911 under a "Shoot Me First" vest.

Since I'm a firm believer in the prevention of explosive castration, a pocket holster that covers the trigger gaurd is mandatory.
