Good experience with CAI R1A1

I finally got to shoot my R1A1 and I was pleasently surprised that nothing went wrong after I figured out that I had the gas tube plug inserted upside down causing the rifle to not eject anything at all even on the lowest setting. Now that that's fixed, the rifle will eject on setting #3 and the bolt hold open will catch while it will FTE on setting #4 which I believe is correct. Anyway, I think I got a good deal considering I traded a Hess AK-74 POS on it.

Seems that since just before they went to thier own rcvrs; the end product has been better...like, more than 50-% functional!

My R1A1 ran great once I replaced the crappy CIA trigger group with an FSE.

Yeah, it's built on a Imbel metric receiver. I was a little hesitant about shooting it considering all the negative things I've heard about Century and when I started getting FTEs at first, I thought that I purchased a lemon but once I figured out the gas tube plug was upside down it was all good from there. You have to also realize that I've had it for about six months now and this is the first time I shot it. What a relief.
