FAL movie sighting: The Harder They Come
I watched The Harder They Come last night with some of my buddies. It's a B-movie from Jamaica, made in 1973. Jimmy Cliff, the reggae superstar, is the leading actor.
It's the story of a non-comformist wanna-be-rock-n-roll-star who fights the system to live his life and pursue his reggae-star dreams. Eventually he gets on the bad side of the local authorities (record label owners, police, etc) and they all have to hunt him down and get rid of him, of course. The soldiers/police who hunt him down in the last 1/3 of the movie all have what look like Aussie L1A1's. You get some great shots of the L1A1's for maybe 30 minutes in the movie. It's funny because they speak English in Jamaica, but my friends and I couldn't understand a word they were saying. I had to turn the sub-titles on. There is a guest appearance by Toots and the Maytals singing Sweet and Dandy in the studio. It's a cool movie if you like Reggae, Jamaica or FALs! |

Re:
Cool! If you go to the Magnum Research website, they have a whole section about the appearance of Desert Eagles in movies. It's a huge list. I don't know how much Hollywood likes the FAL, but why don't we start a list here?
So far I've only seen a FAL in "Heat". |
