can i put a folding stock on my gun?
I am dying to put a folding stock on my ruger 10/22 just for backpacking and such---is that legal?

Doesn't matter how old the rifle is, unless it was in Assault Weapon configuation PRIOR to Sept 13 1994 and STAYED in Assault Weapon configuration ever since, it CANNOT legally have a folding stock and a pistolgrip added now. After Sept 14th, God willing, you can put any evil feature you can think up on it...
