Gas tube nut: How tight?
This is another stupid noob question: How tight should the gas tube nut be? Do I need to torque it like we do with barrels or is hand tight ok?

I just set mine tight with a couple of taps from a hammer and punch. Kind of like how tight you set your oil pan plug. Snug but not overly so.

Hand tight has never caused me any problems.

Make sure that it is bottomed out and it will be fine. The pressure from the gas piston spring will keep in from backing out.

If you think it's to lose put a drop of blue Locktite on it.
That should hold it even if it's finger tight. Court in FL. |
