Wadda expect from the "local edition of USAToday?" Ever since Rupert Murdock and his bunch bought the Star/News from the Pulliam family, they've first merged the Star (morning) with the News (evening) and then shut down the News. In addition a mass exodus of writers and editors has occurred and have been replaced with Murdock cronies from other papers he owns from around the country. My favorite is hiring a guy from Charlotte to report on CART & IRL racing. The guy has no clue. They fired Robin Miller who is one of best knowledgable racing writers in the country to make way for this clown.
The Star/News used to be second only to the Chicago Tribune as a pro Republican newspaper. Now you don't know what it is. |

This is the same newspaper that published an on-line list of CCW holders several years ago, "in the interest of the general public". They have an anti-gun agenda.

I wrote to your "news"paper this morning, we'll see what they have to say when they start getting comments from people nationwide. Funny how papers used to think their actions only effect those in that town, but the web has made them targets of all of us!
Here's my comments to the Indy Star: Why is it that you are forbidding advertisement from law-abiding citizens of the Indianapolis area who want to place classified ads to sell firearms? Arm you bowing to some external pressure that says there is some "newspaper loophole"? That's a crock of shit, and you know it! It's time to put the PC handbook away and let ALL people, EVEN gunowners, have the rights to express themselves, and sell their property. This is ridiculous, and typical of the growing hatred toward guns and gun owners. I would be shocked to actually see the media print a story that showed something possitive about firearms owners, like a gun club getting together to help a charity, which is the kind of thing that happens every day! You people disparage gun owners and gun, and talk about the rise of violent crime...hmmm, the FBI's Uniform Crime Report has shown that violent crime has actually been declining for something along the lines of 30 years, don't takle my word...do you own research and you'll see! As for accidental death and injury do to firearms, that has been steadily declining for DECADES! Again, do the research and you'll see what the real story is. Sadly this isn't the sort of thing that the AP or nearly any other "news" agency will report, and they spread the fear and loathing of violence around and make it seem out of control by over-reporting and sensationalizing every minor incident. If you people in the media are going to continue down this road, at least have the integrity to admit your bias and one-sided accounts. The Hearst papers 100+ years ago started Yellow Journalism, now everyone practices it under the guise of the truth. At least be honest like Hearst was and admit that you're full of shit![COLOR=darkred]
