Numbers painted on Australian L1A1 buttstocks
Any idea on the correct font and size stencil to paint one on refinished buttstock ?

I imagine you're talking about rack numbers.......I don't believe there is a correct size, or placement to those, each arms room has there own standard way of painting those on.

Well, I'm glad anything goes as far as size and font but was number on both sides or left or right only ?

the purpose of the number was for the armorer to look at the number and place it in the approperate slot in the weapons rack. so the placement would have been up to the armorer or the unit SOP.......either case there really is no biggie on how you want to put the number on it.
