I liked him a lot, never did meet him in person, though he was invited to shoots often.

He was a good man, and one of the best machinists around, his FAL and AR fixes are legendary.

Gunplumber really liked him..

Randy was a good guy. I only went to his place a couple times but I found him to be personable, helpful and genuinely fun to talk with. When I heard he had passed, I instantly felt like a schmuck for not making the effort to drive the mere 20 miles to visit with him more. He lived with some serious maladies daily and I wonder how any of US would be affected if we had the same issues to cope with.

I'm ABSOLUTELY GLAD HE's DEAD (and hope it was a painful passing).

May I suggest that in his passing, there is no gain in reflecting on his shortcomings or errors.
