Glock22 on recall list.
I just ran across a chart on the web today that showed my G22 is on a recall list for frame rail failure. It said less than 1% actually failed so I'm not all that concerned but should I contact Glock about a replacement frame or just let it go? This is my daily carry gun and I don't want to send it in unless there is a real danger.
I guess I will call them just to see what they have to say about it but still would like to know what you guys think I should do.

I wouldn't be overly concerned but they'll fix/replace the frame free of charge so why not? I know it may be somewhat of an inconvenience with shipping, etc but ship it out, be done with it and never give it another thought.

Got a link on that Glock 22 recall list ?
W.E.G. my "spare" is a .40 XD Tactical. A better Glock in some ways and a lesser one in others. Win some, lose some, sorta. Both are good, but I prefer the Glock for every day carry. |

I didn't save it . I just ran across it looking up Glock date codes.
I do have other guns I can use until I get it back but I only have one Glock. I saw a nice Glock 23 I wanted at the gunshow but bought a Ruger Mark 3 instead. Here you go, I have EKSxxx http://www.flarms.com/forums/showthr...Serial-Numbers

Timber Wolf sez: The day I felt my first XD (an XDsc .40) Glock's days in my collection were numbered. I got rid of both my G22 and G27 and am down to just a G20. If Springfield comes out with a 10mm XDm, the G20 will be gone too.
I Sez: What about the XDs convinced you that they are so superior to Glocks? Seems like the prices are about the same in my neck of the woods.. similar in build and one amazing difference, the grip safety of the XD. Nor have XDs (yet) gotten the rep of being hand-bombs. I was pretty much sold on the XD, then I ran into a deal on a 3rd gen 21 Glock- you know how it is, a deal ya can't refuse... with all the bally-hooley about .45 cal Glock bombs, Im about ready to dump it and get a similar XD. Seems like the Glock I bought just HAD to be the one most identified with massive failures. Now I have read that replacing the poly barrel with one with standard grooves and lands fixes the problem. What say you all?

Is there a Glock armourer close by that will get a frame in and then simply replace it when it comes in for a no-wait convenience for the customer?

I carry my Glock every day but hardly ever shoot it. I have been thinking of getting a Glock 23 so I'm going to wait a little longer to to see if I get the G23 before I send it in. I may get the G23 after Christmas if things go as planned.

Today I drove about 70 miles to a shop planning to buy a Glock 23 police trade in. I ended up buying a really nice "used" G23. I have field stripped it and it looks brand new. It's not a police trade in and but I got it for $419 LNIB so I guess I will call Glock about the recall on my G22 now.

Do it. About 6yrs ago a cadet's personally owned G22 went cockeyed on the range. Didn't fail completely, he simply noticed the sights were cocked... due to broken rail. It was on the replacement list.

I don't shoot it anymore and will contact Glock after the Holidays. Don't want to take the chance of it getting lost in the Holiday flood of mail.
