British build photo thread

Atleast I have something to contribute to this one. Post your BSA, Enfield and H&R l1a1 builds in here.

All matching numbers 1960 enfield kit on Inch dsa receiver.

All BSA kit on imbel l1a1 sporter receiver.

BSA 59/remarked 60 lower with an all 1964 enfield front end on a DSA Inch receiver.

Minty enfield marked suit.

Nice BSA. I have a matching numbers enfield. But having the original receiver I wish. One of the few things that would make me move to new zealand or one of the other countries that allow ownership of them.

17.5"medium bbl R1A1 kit on a Imbel receiver.
Awaiting:
SAW grip, T48 handguard, sling stuf screw and studs on back, DSA scope rail, KNS hooded sight.
When I get out of NY it's going 'Congo'

Nice guns guys! I appreciate the motivation.

One of these days, the bottom one will get all put together. A mix-master of Brit parts, with a DSA receiver. I picked up a correct wood carry handle after the photo, too.

The top one is all confused, but now I've got more Aussie parts (and another L1A1 receiver) to mix it up a little less.

I really should start building and quit gathering parts...

I hope to have better pictures up in a few weeks. Only thing I really want done to the rifle would be to install a real flash hider (instead of the sealed fake one here).

First things first, hi from mainland Europe.

Here's my all-matching Enfield I just finished. Came with the pebble grain stock, gave a small fortune to have the wood, SUIT and the bayonet shipped here via eBay.
I know the sling, pouches and bayonet don't really match, but it was already an ordeal getting it to look like this, little things can wait.
Still looking for a carrying handle and a way to make it shoot straight (wobbly SUIT, crunchy trigger, bumped reticle tip and trying to figure out the right .308 load for her).
It's one of my favorite pieces never the less, and honestly, not many guns I had performed well out of the box (or the crate and cosmoline, in this case).

Built from new/like new parts last winter. I replaced the Tritium vial with a new one and it works well at night.

The bottom rifle is one of the US Gov'mt "barrel has to have the bayonet lug cut off kit" I'll make it into a carbine.

Very nice Rapidrob, the wood looks great. Is that carrying handle a reproduction? I have never seen a carrying handle without grooves or cuts.

That's a standard early metric carry handle..

Love the stock with the rack number.. Any idea on the history of it?

I have this Brit stock with a white 4 in a green box if anyone has any idea of where it may have been used..

Maybe it's the beer, but I think NZ Collector said the green/white rack number was a NZ drill rifle. I may be under the influence.

Man I hadn't checked this thread in a while. All the guys from other countries with guns that have the original receiver, make me jealous. I'd love to have one even if it was a straight pull. Of course over here we could fix that real quick Too bad the guy from Italy with the two minty rearsenaled l1a1s didn't post a pic in here.

This thread also reminds me how much a godsend pat jones was to the Commonwealth FAL collectors.

From the COONAN GB receivers......

Well guys I built two Brit rifles today on the Coonan Brit cut receivers! Both went together like a dream!!! Here are pics of mine.......
One took a .264 LS and the other took a .2645 LS.

Here is the second which was built for a friend here.....as you can see from the pics my lil buddy is just learning the PROPER photographing requirements......I guess I haven't been such a great tutor in this area.....BUT YOU can also see at least he does have the correct furniture on his where I am slipping.....I will swap out my stock maybe today......

LaC

More to come very soon.....still awaiting on receivers to arrive!

Well I have changed the butt stock and have been cleaning up the stock and also cleaning up the HG's and PG......now applying Tung Oil and it's really looking nice.......been locked away in the shop since not much else today with this damn rain coming down........Pics to come later.....

Updated pics as of today......

Note the LS handguard.....those are not chips or dings but yet look like leopard or appaloosa spots.....I thought I was going to completely strip these down and refurbish, BUT after just a slight cleaning and then fresh coats of oil I have decided to leave it as is.....I personally REALLY LIKE these! THANKS G3isME!!!!!!

LaC

ETA: Did ya notice the MOSES MAG?? That thing is bad ass and fits tight as ALLIGATOR NOOKIE!!! And we all know that ALLIGATOR NOOKIE is WATER TIGHT!!! Thanks again Moses for all your work on these!!!!

Thanks buddy! I have another set that I am going to send to Blue Monster to do some VERY special work for me, and will later install it on this rifle, and the wood on this rifle will be donned on the upcoming Britt build This one is a 64 dated rifle and the upcoming is a 65 dated. I just liked this wood too much to strip and change the character!

THANKS AGAIN!!
