Any one good working on these can not cycle a new round after firing a round without using the release on the left behind the trigger

My initial thought is to take it apart and give the fire control group a good scrubbing, it could be a few things but nothing outrageous and relatively simple. I don't own one but I've read a few things, ammo could cause it, not pressing forward on the pump after each shot, dirty firearm. I'd say take it apart, its probably fire control related, maybe something needs replacing

What J. Armstrong said.

The forearm on the model twelve must be bumped forward a fraction in order to re-set the release and thus cycle the gun. This was in lieu of the sear/hammer not having a disconnect.

Test: With gun empty aim in a safe direction, pull trigger. Slightly bump forearm forward then rearward as one would normally do with a pump gun. Repeat, repeat, repeat until assured of function technique.

Let us know. I have a Winchester model 12 factory shop manual. A real one.
