RP Serial Number Prefix

I'm posting for a colleague in So. Africa who came across a FAL Type C bayonet with a RP-prefix serial number. The bayonet is plated for parade use and in the early steel-bodied FN scabbard. It also has a "G" on the ricasso.

I was hoping someone more familiar with FALs than I might know where the RP serial number was used on FN production.

Thanks!
