I talked to DSA yesterday and asked, was told they're just now firing first ones and shipments to start soon. Also ordered a type 1 carry handle cut receiver, for my Chilean kit.

Pardon my ignorance. Would these be considered inch or metric receivers? I have an Israeli SUIT coming to me with inch cover tabs cut to work on a metric. Want to mount.

Can do?

Ha, a question for DSA if they get on here....maybe a favor...

Coming into a chunk of change in feb, any chance I could preorder one? Do you guys charge my card immediatly? Do you offer a layaway? How do pre-orders work? Wife rewarding me for finishing my basement, selling our house to buy her dream house, and selling pur place for over asking.....Only problem is the cash will not be mine until mid to late feb. Any chance of getting one held for me? With a down payment?

Sorry guys....love history (teach high school history), and really do not want to miss these. Hope I am not being out of line.

Not talking about anyone in particular. Just seems to be a few guys that hardly ever post popping up in this thread cheering this rifle on and getting in line to buy it etc.

No shill posting here...I'm just gonna give DSA the benefit of the doubt. If the rifle is jacked up then I'll deal with it and consider myself warned.

I have plenty of time to back out if the guys at the top of the list are having a lot of issues.

So far Mark's review is encouraging.....

Well, I got on the list, amd will have one in 6-8 weeks. Wish I was connected to them, as I would have gotten it cheaper.

I am still somewhat new to fals. Know very little about the issues they have had, and would love input on what to look for when I pick it up. Not offended by above post, and honestly no praising or defending them. Just like the rifle, and look forward to it. Hope its good.

Any advice on what to look for when I get it for sigbs of trouble? Pics?

So, started reading, and can respect that there habe been issues. Still, I have not the time, tools, or k iwledge to build one, means that I am stuck with this. Happily, I might add. I guess its a 50/50 chance it will be good. If not, they will fix it. I love middle eastern military history. Have a yugo m48BO thats all numbers matching, so this will be the nice counter to it.

Guess I am just excited guys. Not shilling, or promoting. We are all on the same side. Hopefully we all end up happy with these. Will keep the faith until I have reason not to. Be my first DSA experience anyway.

Wonder how hard those handguards and stock are to refinish. The ones shown look a bit rough.

I say that it is pretty hard to refinish anything that hasn't been delivered.

Don't know if DSA has started shipping. I twisted this one up last weekend. That's what makes it "jam762 grade"

On top: Officer Grade
Bottom: Standard Hebrew War Hammer

Receiver left side

Right side

The receiver is cast. The DSA rep explained their forging dies are worn and having new dies made would be cost prohibitive.

The action is very smooth, like oiled glass. On of the smoothest I've tried.

I think the standared grade looks better with the worn stock set these rifles come with. I may have to look into this.

Could someone educate me on the correct spacer configuration for the LB? I see some that only have one and some with two.

I was wondering the same. I put mine in the forward slot because the wear marks on the gas tube indicated that's where it was orginally.

Here's a thread on the subject.

So there's a "standard grade" ?

Whats different? No comp on the muzzle (one of the two in the Shot Show video shows no Comp)?. More worn parts/furniture? Price difference? Can't find anything but officers grade on their website

I spoke with DSA today about the standared grade Rifle, It has the Battle worn look some like. Should be offered for sale in a week or so. You can order it with or without the MB.

Definitely another topic (for perhaps another forum) but did anybody catch reporter dude slip in that ATI would be recreating Galils from surplus kits? I'd be interested in a .308.

Received my FAL yesterday. I feel embarrassed posting this here among the FAL gods having forgotten about gas adjustment.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5Eb545KSZk&t

I like it, "seems" well built. Action is among the nicest of the few FAL/L1A1 rifles I've tinkered with. Wish the engravings were a little thinner but it may be because mine is an earlier one. Will report more when I get some time.
