At that price, hard to go wrong for a Belgian made FN kit.

SARCO description says original Belgian barrel "with a very good bore".
Personally, I would be skeptical of this description. YMMV

Thanks for the replies All of them good.
Plus its a mix-master.
They must have added the barrel condition after my inquiry.

Barrel is original. They have only a few hundred. I’d get one but I’m on a FAL diet.

My experience with Sarco has been rather, disappointing, to say the least. Their grading systems seems to lack a certain bit of, what's the word? Truth? Maybe honesty? I suppose with the current state of the FAl parts availability, five bills would be a fair roll of the dice, if you did so right now, before the "good" kits are gone.

The last kit I bought off Sarco was the izzy HBAR
Great barrel and a few pieces , nice wood and lots of rust on everything else , mostly metric mixmaster floor sweep

Never ever again

Yeah,

Almost bit and then realized I can get an excellent condition refinished kit from GP for almost the same money.

Belgian is nice, run hard and put up wet in South American jungle, not so nice.

Because it feels so satisfying when you acquire a LMT made DSA Type 1 or similar for your kit.

The search is also much of the fun.

I haven't had any problem finding great functional receivers. What type are you looking for?

Not to dispute or agree with assumed and witnessed condition of these kits, but merely a question for those in the know. What type receiver would best fit these kits, Type 1, or Type 2?

I've had the luxury of living through better times, gladly, with some foresight toward this day. For the late comers your only chance (until they find more), yeah, that's the bottom of the barrel I see coming up there. Snatch em' up while the times are (cough, cough) good.

In true SARCO fashion they've already sold the good stuff cheap, so now it's time to milk nasty stuff for all it's worth.

My two kits should be arriving Monday. I will let all you naysayers know what I get. Worst option is I pay to ship back for refund. I can live with that.

The banquet started around 30 years ago. As is common, the first ones to the banquet table get the best cuts.

But when you are hungry, the scraps taste just as good and with some creative craftsmanship can be elevated in their appeal.

So your choices are to: 1) eat the scraps; 2) entice the first comers to open their stash and provide the best cuts at cheap prices; or 3) build a time machine.

Of course, the most frequently used option is the 4th, to belly ache about the LONG GONE good ol'days!!!!!! Which is the least productive and does nothing to progress the addiction.

Oh, I do understand the difficulty = just remark that SARCO does this over and over and over. Sell the best and first out the door cheapest. Last buyers get the "wurst" so to speak. Their standard business model...

Those could probably still be made into interesting rifels and good shooters, if you are not too sophisticated and picky and want to apply yourself.

Never mind, found em

Is there a place other than the Sarco site to buy these kits? I looked on the site and there's only two types of fal kits and both are out of stock. Neither of them are these being discussed.

Sarco got them all. Maybe they refused some that were really shot, I don't know. Maybe somebody will show up with some beaters. But by and large, Sarco bought the lot of them.

Cosmetically, these are no different than the Cubans but w/o the Cuban triangle. But to the guy who has to have one of every form that's available, this is one more to cross off the list.

Do you think they are in as bad shape as the Cuban kits were?

My order arrived today. Both are Cuban triangle lowers. Not a single matched part but all Belgian. Earned patina but no pitting. Bores look great. Chocolate/dark, dark green FN bipod handguards. Type C butts with non rotating rear swivel. Wood butts are kinda beat and oil soaked and “GUSTAVO” carved in one.

Definitely not from Sarco’s old batch of rusty Cuban scraps. These will build up beautifully, and best deal onnoriginal barrel kits out on the market right now. Leave as is for BFPU look, or refinish metal to like new (wood is different story)!

From the way my two were packed, it appears these are most likely stored by subassembly and they are building kits out of bins. So any matching numbers will be extremely lucky.

Thank God these Chilean Kits might be good. I just bought 2 kits over the weekend. Still waiting for delivery. Very excited. I had a numbers-matching Brazilian Imbel kit 5 years ago and sold it, my biggest firearms related regret, and i’m determined to jump back in the FAL game, except so much has changed! You can’t find a damn upper receiver for sale from the 2 big players (DSA & Coonan). What gives? These companies should be expanding capacity, like America is famous for, Bigger, better, faster! 😄. Anyway, happy to be back in FAL-La Land!

If someone gets a non-Cuban triangle lower, I might be convinced to swap for Chilean lower.

Over the years, I have been very happy with my parts orders from Sarco. But they do lie. When I call to order, they tell me to be patient, & the order will arrive in 10 days, to 2 weeks. 4 days later, UPS shows up with my order. LIARS. GARY

I like Sarco. Dave has always been helpful and accommodating. When they’ve screwed up they made it right.

Not exactly my experience. I got a few of those bottom of the barrel kits they had last time. I knew what I was buying and they were priced accordingly. One didn't have a gas plug. I called. They said they would make it right. They didn't.

Then recently they advertised that they had gotten a batch of metric gas plugs so I ordered a couple. They're not metric. They're inch.

Don't believe everything they say. They too have few morals.
