ARS built Imbel value?

Hey gents,
Trying to find the value of an ARS built rifle. Imbel gear receiver, Imbel 17.3 kit, DSA black furniture and it’s got a PARA rear sight and that special coating Mark does. Plus a DSA dust cover rail and 20 Austrian mags. Thanks!

ballpark, $1700 maybe? $400 for the mags and $1300 for the rifle. Others will chime in for a better idea of a price.

not that high unless you find a motivated buyer. black guns are still down, even odd ones like FAL. in any case the closer to visually "correct" from 15 feet the higher, so no personalization.

Nonetheless you disgust me, and I take comfort in the knowledge that your obituary will be nowhere near as humorous as mine.

The next time I hear "THE RANGE IS NOW HOT", it just wont be the same.

Max tried another question. "What sort of people live about here?"
"In THAT direction," the Jin said, waving its right paw round, "lives a Han: And in THAT direction," waving the other paw, "lives a Ming Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad."
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Max remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Jin: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Max.
"You must be," said the Jin, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Value to you, value to Mark, and value to everyone else is likely going to be three different sums.
Decide what you have to have for it and list it at that price. It'll sell or it won't, adjust your price accordingly until it sells or you refuse to go any lower.
The sad truth of the matter is the rifle isn't worth what you have in it to the majority of those hanging around here.

appx $1650 to build it today

$500 parts kit
$600 receiver
$550 for me

But with the way the market is right now, complete guns are worth slightly less than the sum of their parts.

So my guess on FMV for that rifle with one mag is $1400. And if I may be so arrogant - $200 of that value is my name on it.

I'd think seriously about buying that rifle over a DSA made unit costing less.

The last sentence is the fact about buyers here. Your best bet to get the most money is to put it on Gunbroker.

$1400 is about right. And, if you think about what it takes to get there, or buy an equivilent, it's a steal. Unlike a home-build or even a DSA, you know it will run.

If the market is low now, wait until election time.

Its an FAL, not an SKS or an AR15 and should not be purchased with the lowest cost option in mind. For not that much more money you can get a good well built FAL and it is well worth it.

Yep, if one wants to the thing to run properly, look proper, and can hit something smaller than a mountain side.

So, have you decided to list this yet?

Not yours I mean. And not mine which has 69 on the stock. A very few of us have the time and talent to match or exceed ARS. The latter involves time value of money and price ceiling but since we build them for ourselves it doesn’t matter. But for every nice home build there are 10 clunkers.

There were at least 6 nice builds at the last gun show.from $900 to 1300. All imbel gear rec. The $1300 was a new Israeli kit on a imbel. Nice rifle.
