14&15 OCT 2017 - HESCO 2017 Zombie Invitational 3 Gun

Happy Father's Day Weekend FAL'ers. I am posting for information purposes with the permission from the Match Directors of the ZI3G Match. I attended this last year and it was a blast. I met Growler Gator there and he has since joined us at the RBGC FAL Match hosted by Stimp. The ZI3G is a two day event (camping over night onsite is available, bring own gear) with Rifle/Pistol day one and Shotgun/Pistol day two. It is hosted at the Echo Valley Training Center in WV just over the border to the west of Winchester VA. The sponsors have asked that I preface this with the following:

Please read carefully regarding the type of match because this isn't a regular "Race-gun" event as mentioned in the quote above. You leave your vehicle/tent in the morning on foot with everything you need for the day (ammo/weapons/food/etc...) and you carry it with you all day (water will be available throughout the day). It is not a crazy Run-N-Gun like some of us do, but you will move as a group on foot all day, humping your gear, from stage to stage.

There is plenty of info on the site about this sort of stuff: https://www.zombieinvitational.com/

Here is the (not so impressive) video of some of my shooting last year:

If you plan on making it, please let me know.

I am officially registered for this in October as Category 3 Participant and hope some of you can make it! The shoot-house that HESCO is building is supposed to be topnotch! These are Northern Ohio Training Center images/video of what it should look like at Echo Valley when complete:

I have mailed in my registration check for this one.

I read somewhere that in the two days you go about 30 miles. I know that place and I find that figure hard to believe. Have you shot this one before?

For this one am using an HBAR.

I did last year and I don't think we humped 30miles. Maybe 15-20 between the two days but it is move as a group and I teamed up with more of a gaggle! The stages are pretty awesome especially the 360. You do a fully surrounded by zombies shoot inside a circular berm. We shot it with pistol on day one and shotgun on day two. This HESCO shoothouse I am looking forward to! Look for me there. I'll be one of the few with an FAL (Shooting the DSA pictured below).

Zombie Info

I have signed up but heard very little from organizers. The round count seemed very low considering the # of stages. Have you received final coordinating instructions yet?

I will not be using my STG but will be using my Colt HBAR with no optics.

Range/Match Report:

This is my GoPro (and iPhone) video range report from the 2017 HESCO Zombie Invitational 3Gun Match at Echo Valley Shooting Center, WV. These are my runs on day one rifle/pistol (wasn't able to stay for day two shotgun/pistol). I only got video capture of the first three stages for our Squad (totally forgot to turn on the GoPro for the other three stages. Here are stages 4 (The Field), 5 (The Woods), and 6 (The House). Enjoy!
