Mississippi Falers

OK. Thanks WEG for the group. Now Mississippi Falers sound off. Let's see how many of us there are and if anyone is interested in trying to get a shoot together.

I live right across the border in Slidell, LA but work in Kiln/Stennis...

I would be interested in anything on the southern end of the Stae..

I would also be interested in going to a shoot in the southern end of Mississippi as I'm in Baton Rouge.

I would be interested as well. I live in Houma, LA, so southern or central MS is do-able for me.

I just noticed that half the responses for the Mississippi FALers are from Louisiana. Why don't we have a Louisiana FALer's group?

I don't believe they are very active...

Now watch that I get blasted or something like that...

I do keep in touch with a couple but that is usually to meet up at a local show or maybe part/ammo sale...

But would like to get some sort of Shoot/part swap etc going.. I am in and out of the area every other month... at the current time I am working in the Southern Philippines (good internet for the moment).. 46 days ago I was just returning from Bahrain/Sandbox area...

So if something was happening while I was in the area.. that would be great - either in LA or Southern MS

Thanks... Rick (favander)

I'm in Picayune. I'm up for a shoot, swap meet, build party, or just a show and tell. Pretty much anywhere south of Jackson works for me.

fastback65, I'd like to learn about that Ham Radio stuff too. I'm thinkin' it may come in handy one of these days.

Cool!

I would advise anyone that wants to get involved with HAM radio to go to the QRZ Website and take the practice tests until they can pass them consistently. If you can pass the practice tests, you are ready for the real deal. I am a VE tester and we give the tests at the conclusion of all of our club meetings. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Brandon, MS. The Hattiesburg ARC is very active and would be a good start for anyone in South Mississippi. PM me for my phone number if I can be any assistance.

we will do Wildman but as i work for the railroad dont bet i will be home for anything as we speak i am in the wilds of Quebec but if i hear of anything i will shoot you a message.
If i ever do get home and a couple want to get together and shoot i have some ammo i am willing to part with.
Now i know your all thinkin i have been smokin the old Canadian maple leaf let me make myself clear i have about 600 rds of SB 69 that's very corrosive so after we shoot we would have to have a real cleanin party.
but i will let you know
and welcome to our little group

Welcome guys! I'm getting together the tools to build. I've got a kit and a half, and decided that I want to do this myself rather than send them to someone else. It'll be awhile, but I'll let you know when I'm up to speed.

Mississippi Shooters with FALs.....

Hi guys:

Dan from Jackson, MS here...... I am a fairly new owner of the FAL (about 2 months), but have owned MANY other "toys" for many years.

If you guys put together a shoot in Misssissippi...... PLEASE let me know. Any part of Mississippi is not too far......

Not only will I bring my FAL, M1 Garand, ARs, AKs, M1 Carbine, bolt-action military rifles, lever-guns, and handguns...... Plus, if the shoot is within Mississippi, I will bring some full-auto SMGs.

I am willing to help plan the MS Shoot.......

Dan

Hi Dan,
It is just possible I know you. I live in Jackson for 45 years before I moved to Florence. Do you shoot at Byram? Before it went belly up I worked for World Com and used to shoot at Surplus City 2 or 3 times aweek on my lunch break. Do you know Wendel Godfrey, I think he used to sell some class 3 stuff, I bought mine from Jimmy Stegal.

I should be returning from the Philippines (work) around the 3rd (Jun) and would be interested in any shoot/swap/build party that might be going on or want to plan...

Should be in the area (Southern Mississippi/ SE Louisiana) for the next 45 days till I go out (Somewhere) again...

Let me know... Rick (favander)

Near Tupelo here. But, like excuses to go to the southern part of the state, too.

...working on a 'backyard' range, too.
