Update to the chart!!

It's time for an update to the chart.

Thanks to the following FAL Files members that have shared their numbers:

1) msnyder with barreled Upper 02157
2) Slo cat with FMAP Upper 01347
3) 12v71 with barreled upper 01596 and lower, bolt and carrier 02598 (I think that this rifle may have been originated with eagle54 and BlackgunCO (who got that lower, bolt and carrier from me!)
4) biyf with barreled Upper 0697 and this is a match with 1000m!
5) ismith with barreled Upper 01001
6) Sniper7.62x51 with lower, bolt and carrier 00979
7) Adam762 with bolt and carrier 01558, lower 02407 and Upper 01102 (ex-Pat Jones Argy FAL)

Enjoy the chart!

The bottom one in Smokie's list is #00166
Another here http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=431715599
Upper 02165 Lower #01379....looks like it was Squint's gun. Thinking the b&c are not Argy as he has/had no listing on the chart but the upper & lower. The lower is only one # off the 01378 upper in the other auction listed above, it's 01378.
Update:
Squint confirmed here http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=375133
That the bolt, carrier and brl #'s match the upper. All Argy.

Edit
Another upper here.
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=431863756

And upper 1948 here
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=432668400

These Century Sporter receiver serial numbers have nothing at all to do with the Argy kits or receivers that started this thread. It's an entirely different series of numbers attached to a totally unrelated product. Might as well start listing serial numbers off Timex watches and Sunbeam toasters.

I more or less lost interest in this whole project once I started receiving endless PMs from dingbats wanting my stuff to match up with their Century C-marked receivers,...............or worse yet wanting a kit from me because it was "only" two numbers away from their receiver. I'm thrilled to death to see the original parts reunited but completely uninterested in being party to 'shotgun wedding' builds. If the parts weren't originally all from the same gun there's no sense in forcing them together now and pretending you have something 'special'.

I know Kev.....just tryin to keep the thread alive. Plus it gives a bored idiot -me- something to occupy my time.
I used the 2 century/ argys I got for the 2 argy para kits I had as there was no chance of getting the correct # receivers for them anyway. ....worked fine for me.
I just started grouping all thing Argy in here.

I will cease and dissist from further crappin in this thread with sightings.

Sorry guys....I meant no harm.

Let me apologize Lon,.........woke up in a sour mood this morning and shot my mouth off before engaging my brain I guess. If it weren't for your posts I think this thread would have died a long time ago.

The Century Sporter receivers are one of the best possible options for an Argy build,........far better than a Coonan Argy or an Imbel and both of those are 'good' options. I suppose I was just trying to make the point that these receivers salvaged from the early Century guns, while indeed Argentine manufactured, are not associated with the matched but separated kits that came into the country as complete rifles. Several years ago I let a member talk me out of one of my kits to build up a C serialed receiver and I've forever felt like I failed in my duty to preserve that kit. Silly, I know. Chances are slim that the single, solitary original receiver would ever pop up and at least the gun is built up and shooting. It was that guilt talking earlier. Please forgive me my friend.

Just re-read what I posted this morning and I sound like quite the dick. Truly harsh,.....didn't mean to direct anything at you. Didn't realize it was worded so poorly when I wrote it.

I have to agree with what KEV wanted to say: those Century Argy Uppers were not part of the batch of FAL rifles that were split in two halves.

And finding an Argy kit that matches one of those Century ARgy is just a coincidence but is better than nothing.

I'll keep the Century numbers in this spreadsheet because I have the power

And LON, you are welcome to keep posting since probably after me you are the higher poster on this thread and I appreciate it.

KEV, no worries, we all have bad moments and said things we later regret but you were spot on. And I'm happy you were the first one to enjoy the first success of this thread.

No harm...no foul.

I would just be happy to find a decent Argie kit for my FMAP receiver. I'll worry about matching numbers later.

Pfff. The receiver is the hard part. I'm sure many of those Argy Sarco kits are unbuilt by guys with wishful intentions (i.e. like me; I built one on an FMAP and still have another stashed with a numbers matching Coonan receiver).

Keep an eye on Gun Joker. I've seen em from time to time.

So....what would an all numbers matching Argy rifle in unfired condition be worth? Looking at the gunbroker auctions I'm guessing 1600 to 2000?

If it's an Armscor import, with everything...box, paperwork, manual-target and such, they can top $2500.
One of our reunited kits....$1500 maybe....sales for anything but certain kits is very soft right now.

I forgot about this thread!

I've only got one of the kits my brother and I ordered here:

The barrel is un numbered.

I'll get my brother to look through the other 7 kits we bought when he gets back in country next month.
