Hi Grinder , i hope your right

Received an answer from Hove -

I will need to check to see if I still have that upper assy. I think I have sold it but will need to check. It would be nice to get it back together .

Lets hope he did not sell it
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heard back from Hove - I have some bad news on the Argi receiver assy 02901. I looked and I no longer have the one you need. It is a shame because it would have been nice to mate them back together .

I saw in another post you stated Sarco got the Lower Argy kits without the upper receivers, Who bought all of the upper receivers for the completed lowers kits Sarco got?

FYI
We have counted less then 200 kits left. Many of the kits left do not have maching numbers. The next ad will reflect that. We still have some matching number kits to ship and those will go first. My guess is we will be completely out in 2 months at current rate of sales.

New Sarco kit arrived for my brother:

Bolt: 01504
Carrier: 01504
Lower: 01504

I was looking at the chart and I realized I made a mistake and posted for 01942 when I actually have 01944. Please delete 01942 and update to the correct serial numbers:

Bolt: 01944
Carrier: 01944
Lower: 01944

I got the parts from Grinder and they are a perfect match to my upper. Will try and post some pics ASAP. I want to thank Aezcur for starting this thread and making it possible for me to match my rifle. And extra thanks to Grinder for finding a kit with my numbers on it.It seems you have a talent for buying the kits others need.

So was that the issue receiver that was originally with the rest of the rifle? The receiver SN starts with X....is this typical?

How did you come across the barrel?

Pardon my ignorance....some education please.

Aeroscout,
Somewhere in the 30 pages of posts on this thread there is a comment from a very well known and knowledgeable member that informed us that the "X" means that an "X" barreled upper means that was imported after 1/1/90. The barrel came with the upper, and the X was a stamp made only on the upper.

Do you have Argy kits? would you like to share your numbers and join the 're-unification project"?

It would seem to me that if the "Sarco man" says that they are really on the bottom of the argy pile, many more forum members should be matching their rifles up soon. It also would seem that someone from Sarco would want to check Aezcur's list when they run out of the matching kits and see if any of the parts they have left were there. That would surely make a lot of sales for them. Anyway, it should get exciting on this thread in the coming months. In a way I hope Sarco really is about done with these and doesn't "discover" another crate of them in a back room. It's happened before. And remember, I still need kit no.01523 to match my other barreled upper.

Only 1 of my 3 matches came directly from Sarco
The other 2 were private sellers
We are only a part of the kits and uppers out there
Also a lot of mismatched rifles out there
This is a long term project

Agree with Grinder. Also, keep in mind that not all the FAL Files members with Argy kits have shared their numbers.....I know of at least 125 members that at some point have mentionend in different threads that they have kits but their numbers are not on the list. I hope they are looking at the list.

So imagine also all the kits that SARCO sold to non-members that don't even know about the existence of the FAL Files Forum.

The S/N is somewhat hard to make out, but it looks like FMAP receiver # 02666 is on GunBroker right now attached to an Izzy HB kit.

aezcur,

I just took another look at the spreadsheet. Some lines have blue or green highlights. Most of these have the same name on at least the lower, bolt, and carrier. Some lucky names extend all the way across. But some have the same name on the lower, bolt, and carrier, yet do not have a highlight. Some have a highlight when the names do not match all the way across.

Would you please explain the highlights?

I hope you haven't answered this same question a dozen times already.

Hi TNAndy,

Not a problem! Here is the explanation:
1) Light blue highlight: means that the corresponding matching parts were found but the owners didn't arrive to an agreement on who keeps what... so it is a matching but no cigar!
2) Green highlight (and same name accross all the cells) means a matching was made out of two different owners and they arrive to an agreement and we had a successful reunion, end product is an ALL Matching Argy FAL.
3) Yellow highlight: Means duplicate serial numbers.....interesting situation, could be that were made in different batches or one is a MKIV (para rear sight and closed ear gas block) and the other one is a standard tall rear sight and open ear gas block.
4) Lower, bolt and carrier same name but no highlight: these owners got the kit from Sarco with these three components already matching numbers.

Thanks for asking.

2. Is this only a list of Argentine FALs imported by SARCO?
3. What is considered a "kit" (which parts)?

Hi Jimmy,
To your questions:

1. Yes, you are correct, we don't have any idea where those parts (serials) are or who are the owners.
2. It started from the Sarco kits but it is NOT limited to that .....ALL Argentine FAL parts are welcome in the reunification project. The barreled Uppers were sold by different companies than Sarco.
3. The ''kits'' that Sarco is selling consists of:

a) kit with barrel: everything to assembly a FAL except for the Upper, flash-hider, locking shoulder, magazine and the 7 US 922r required parts.
b) kit without barrel: like a) without barrel

Received two Sarco kits on Friday afternoon - matching kits, numbers 02733 and 02983. I've got some assembly questions I'll post later.
Thanks WyoRanger,
I'll update the chart in a couple of days. Your kit 02733 is only one number away from my FMAP Upper 02732.

Would you or anyone else please direct me to the appropriate thread for that discussion? I would ask here but I want to stay within the scope of the rules and etiquette in the correct threads and discussions. Thank you again for the rapid response to my questions.

P.S. I am more than happy to share some details of her history if needed.

Jimmy,
If you have an ALL matching FAL then there is no need to post it in the chart.
Please ask any questions and the Argy FALs that frequent this thread will jump to help you out.

FMAP uppers

Is there anyone selling original Argentine semi-auto uppers anymore? Or anyone with serial numbers 02733 or 02983 that's willing to sell/trade? I've got two Coonan Argentine-cut receivers on order, but it'd be really sweet to have an all-Argentine gun...

Finally got my part kit.

I've been looking at the beautiful rifles on the "got wood" thread, and I wanted to make one for myself. I was going to get one of the SARCO Argy kits, but drove by a couple of years ago, and the kit seemed expensive...and there seemed so much more I was going to have to get.
A time went on I got more and more determined that I would have one of those beautiful, wooden-furniture rifles.
I called SARCO before Christmas, and they said they were out. I tried to get onto the group buy that LaConservationalist was organizing, but they said they didn't have any kits then.
I drove by the store again on Friday, and they had one kit in!!! I got it.
The lower and bolt-carrier have the same #, 00884. The bolt itself doesn't have a number on it. The bolt, carrier and barrrel all seem in beautiful condition. I'm very happy.
Now I have to start getting the rest of the things together....
Thanks to all of you who have been inspiring me with photos of your rifles!

Matching type IV number #01522. The barrel is a lot rougher than the last kit, has parkerizing proof marks and numbers. Haven't cleaned it up to know if its chrome lined.
