L1A1 Enterprise ABNI receiver

Hello everyone, I'm new to the site but I've owned a metric FAL since the early 90s. Back in the 90s I also bought this Enterprise receiver at a gun show. It was just wrapped in a plastic bag, and is in perfect condition. I'm now thinking about doing something with this receiver. What kind of a parts kit should I look for to use this on? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Aussie kit would be more authentic, but a lot of Brit kits get built on these.

Have same receiver which is getting an Aussie kit, DSA inch receivers for a bit cheaper Brit kit and spares plus an Imbel imported by Cemtury L1a1 marked receiver cut for metric mags. It is being modified for inch mags for my L2a1 project. Been collecting L2 parts over three years and now even have three receivers and three barrels but not all parts needed to do a single build yet. If doing it over would drop $7,000 to 10,000 on a nice L2 and be done with it. Still may do that then start unloading parts to almost build a pair of nice L2's with redundant thirds in some parts. L2 building is expensive and difficult to source correct parts.

L2A1 is a heavy barrel rifle. Just about impossible to get all of the parts needed to complete A kit these days.

I have decided to have Gunplumber build a nice L1A1 on it. I'm looking forward to shooting it.

When they outlaw that thing in Washington State will give it a good home with proper carry handle and rear tangent sights. Just throwing my hat in the ring early, I would move before sold an L2.

My L1A1 arrived yesterday, and it looks fantastic. Does anyone know how I can post photos of it?

Create an imugr account and post a link that way. Someone else could explain how to post pictures directly, but not I. Can’t wait to see you L1A1.

On Imgur, n the drop down menu (Your username at top right),Click on images. Then click on the image you want to post. On the right side where it says direct link, click copy. Then paste in post and add after the link. If I post multiple pictures, I put them in Word first, then copy and paste all at once.

That’s just gross man you can’t live life like that with the wrong carry handle Nice rifle I’m chopping a L2 barrel to build a bitch gun ,

I have received a few pm about chopping the L2 barrel don’t worry Lads this barrel is missing its gas block
We are looking different at options like using a L1 gas block and turning down the od of the barrel if all else’s fails might have to use a Izzy heavy barrel

I took it to a 50 yard indoor range yesterday, and it was a real pleasure to shoot. Cycled perfect first time and every time, with a very smooth trigger. It did shoot a little high, but I figure at 100 yards it should be spot on. I'm very happy with how this turned out.

Mark test fires them at 25yds, this should give you a POA/POI at 200yds.

I think there are a few guys looking for those for their L2 builds. Would probably trade another plus $$$ if you were looking to come out a little ahead. Otherwise build a nice Aussie on it.

Yes This is the correct procedure for siting in at 200 yards. Two hundred yards is the distance to which the rear site is calibrated. In between 25 yards and 200 yards, it will POI high.

Actually, the L1A1 rear sight is 300 yd at the shortest. I zero 1" low at 25 yd, which should be poa=POI at 300. I do the 200 m FAL the same 'cause that's how my targets are printed. A 1" square for POA, and a 2" circle centered 1" below it. It's the UK machine rest standard and has worked pretty well for the last 25 years.

I'm just posting this because there's a serious lack of Canadian representation in this thread.

Nice L1A1, btw!

Thanks for the help. I've been away for a while and don't know what the deal is with Photobucket?

What happened with it and can someone tell me what's a better app to use?

Thanks

My Brit L1A1 kit assembled on an early Enterprise inch receiver with no manufacturer's name engraved on receiver. It shoots just fine.

Yea, I know. The rear sight is from a Canadian C2A2 because I link its foldability and adjustability.

Quite a fine looking Brit there. I think you meant 'C2A1' on that rear sight, though...and yes, those are definitely more stable than most L1A1 rear sights. However, before all these original Brit parts start really drying up, you might consider selling that C2 sight and, with the cash, you could easily pick up an L1A1 Hythe sight AND a standard L1A1 sight (both of which also fold), plus a 12-pack, or two...just something to consider

Thank you for pointing out my error. I corrected it. I have the original Brit L1A1 sight plus a Canadian C1A1 too. I like the look of these Canadian sights.
