Wow, small world. I'm sitting the surgeons exam room waiting to see if they're going fix me or not.
Good luck, these days the proceedure is quick and easy to recover from.

Surgery was a little longer than expected. They had to relocate some hardware from the last surgery 35 years ago. Had my first walk about - a big 40 feet.

I heard they're getting really good at these. I'm sure it'll be a piece of cake!!!

At least I hope. I'll probly need one in the not too distant future.

Good luck with the recovery.

If I was still practicing medicine without a license, ok, it was all legal when done to GI's, my Rx for ya would be;

One gallon of Jack Daniels whiskey, chug a good bit direct from the jug, straight up, then drop the remainder onto your big toe.

No more knee pain.

Repeat as often as you can still hold the jug, and hit your big toe!

I thought the standard military treatment for everything was

Motrin

Drink water

Change socks

That scar took a quick turn. What did you do sneeze, fart, or both?

Now is the time to work hard. The harder you do PT, and the more it hurts, the quicker you get better. Just don't go so hard that you do damage to your fixed parts.

As for the socks, they do make two manly colors - black and khaki (aka beige):

That sharp turn with the incision was so they could get to the staple that was holding the reconstruction of ligaments that was done many years ago.

Long term, yer knee will be easier than having that shoulder redone, then redone again. No place kick practice for a few days and no kicking ass at the plant, should keep.you safer...

Pulling out the old work could be where the deeper pain lives. Hope the new work can go as long!

Go Rams! Gotta tighten up that D somehow.

Hey, you're the knife guy, I'll send you a picture of a knife I really like and want to get something similar.

Heal up fast buddy!

6 weeks post surgery and i'm still having to use my walker. My bend is at 101* and should be around 125*. Surgeon said i have massive amounts of scar tissue that's holding things up. If it's not better by December 18 they will have to go back in {scope} and hog out a bunch of the scar tissue...Really sucks because i've done everything post surgery that i'm supposed to including ton's of physical therapy.

I was going real slow getting bend also. The therapist was frustrated at the lack of progress. One thing I started to do was use my computer chair to kind of roll into a stretch and just keep it there. I was watching movies, playing PC games, reading books etc.... while sitting there in a constant stretch. After two weeks of that I really started to see some movement. You've got way more starting damage than I did though. Hoping for a excellent recovery for ya bud.

Hey Rich, hang in there. I had my left knee replaced 7 years ago. The
hardest part is getting the damn thing to straighten and bend. Exercise
the hell outta it and it will get better.

We'll compare scars the next time we get together.

Actually, it was Sportsnut that had the knee replacement...though I definately need one myself.

Talked to Ron last weekend. He is getting better....slowly.

Just got home from PT this morning and got the ice on the knee now. This last week I've been thrashing this sucker trying to get some scar tissue broke up as to avoid hearing from the surgeon on the 18th that they will have to go in and remove it with another surgery. The physical therapist was happy with my latest measurement today of 115* on the bend. Not great but an improvement of 5-6 degrees since last session. Hopefully as long as improvement is made it will keep me from going under the knife again.
Two and a half weeks ago my bend was at 101* and although i'm not where they would like I am going in the right direction.

Maybe they are using the 'threat' of another surgery as a way to get you to do exactly what you are doing, pushing yourself.

Lol good point.

Although this was my 13th surgery I really don't need extra motivation, just need this sucker to start cooperating.

Note to parents- football is bad, but I'm sure I would do it again....
