Privi contract 54R

Just bought a can locally for .47 per.
I'm not very fond of Privi ammo in general but this is kinda unique and I'm an ammo whore.

No. Olympic is Greek and horrible stuff.

Prvi is Serbian, Prvi Partizan (PPU or nny headstamp) and decent stuff.

I bought a couple of cases of the Olympic 5.56x45mm M193 many years ago. I shot one 50rd box of it and the rest still holds my house down from blowing away in the wind. It really is pretty awful...

I have a hard time reconciling this Olympic junk and HXP .30 CAL M2 ammo coming from the same small country given that the HXP ammo is very good indeed...

And I have had very good luck with Prvi ammo.

I bought a bunch of this, years ago

That which I bought came two ways, in ammo cans like this and in corrugated cardboard boxes. It shoots very nicely and is Boxer primed.

Is that privi a 150g fmj? Non magnetic bullet?
I just bought a few boxes of privi 150g sp to use at the outdoor range close by. No fmj allowed there but they allow those hp match bullets with the little tiny holes at the tip. I'm actually looking for 54r loaded with HPBT 170g 180g whatever. Until I find some it's privi soft points which I guess helps to grow the boxer 54r brass pile.

.
Prvi 7.62x54R GI FMJ is a 182gr Guilding Metal jacket bullet. I donít think Prvi or Igman ever used a steel bullet jacket.

Ok thanks. I have some of that too. Use it at the indoor range where it is allowed but don't have any interest in shooting at 50 yards much.

Why don't they allow FMJ?

Anti-firearms people been trying to shut this range down for decades. They like to claim bullets ricochet from the range and penetrate their homes. I believe these people have someone shoot into their home and then they claim it was a stray bullet from the range. Anyways the range has done things in order to survive and one of these was to eliminate "ricochets" by banning FMJ.

You should see the overhead barriers in front of the firing line now--no elevation possible above the targets and no way in hell above the berms. And then there is a huge mountain of dirt covered trash (landfill site) directly behind the range that kinda makes the mother of all berms....and...... the range is still open despite anti-American communist government worshipers best efforts.

Kind of an odd weight bullet. It must have been contract specific.

Nothing wrong with PPU ammo.

But nothing really wrong with that mfg either.
