Have it on DVD.

Favorite scene when they are chasing Spencer Tracy over the pontoon bridge that connected Long beach to terminal island.

They are now replacing the bridge that connected that road to terminal island, it was called the Gerald Desmond bridge.

It transissioned from the pontoon bridge to the GD bridge when I was very young.

I remember riding in the back of my pops 1958 ford station wagon with fake wood panels on the side while crossing the pontoon bridge for the last time.

The ferry boat station (now the san pedro maratime museum) on the other side of terminal island was also swapped out for a miniature version of the Golden Gate Bridge around the same time frame also.

Dad also worked at the fire boat station that was under the Vincent Thomas bridge until what I remember was the mid 1990's.

Incredibly long but filled with hillarious moments.

It drags a little bit here and there, like when the couple is stuck in the hardware store basement, for example.

But chok full o' comedy gold overall.

Total slapstick but I still love when Jonathan Winters goes nuts at the gas station.

Love the flying parts especially the Beech 18 flying thru the billboard sign. No CGI in those days. The real thing.
My dad took me to see it. I was a little kid but when Jimmy "kicks the bucket", it set my mood for the entire movie as my dad just roared.

That was Frank Tallman doing the flying. He was one hell of a pilot and IMO this was one of the best aviation stunts Hollywood has produced.

Airplanes from the movie. I wonder if the car in the bill board sign film is a stand in, or a family driving along, wondering what are those cameras guys doing over on the side of the road?

If you look carefully you might see Herman the German in the harbor scenes.

It interesting to watch the interviews on the making of the movie. Every comedian on the planet wanted to be a part of it. Jack Benny begged for a role so Kramer gave him a cameo appearance. Eddie "Rochester" Anderson from the Jack Benny show played on of the cab drivers. Great movie.

Who noticed Jerry Lewis cameo?

This film is like a time machine to me I was very young when this was released and it reminded me of things I've seen and experienced since that time, the house with the palm trees on each side was owned by a high school mates grand mother 40 years ago.

I did not see Jerry Lewis in the film. But they did interview him about the making of it. That generation of entertainers is long gone. At least we can still watch the old movies. Now people think a movie isn't funny unless you use the word f%ck every other line.

It was just a short cameo...

Spencer Tracys character lost his hat out the window and William Demarest (1892–1983)(https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0218131/) ran out to the street to retrieve it, Jerry Lewis ran or tried to run over it with is car.

One of my dad's best friends laughed so hard he passed a kidney stone when he saw it in the theater.
