922R L1a1

Trying to get all the parts for a build.

L1a1 kit with Imbel Inch receiver

Dsa piston and charging handle
Old Bell and Carlson handguards
Hammer and Sear from Gunthings
USA Mag follower and base plate.

I don't see how to make it legal to use with surplus inch magazine...

Well something to think about is most of the early Buena Park Enterprise receivers were built with raw inch parts kits. See when those recievers came out there were really no 922 compliance parts
As I recall the 1st compliance bits didn't come out for a couple years

Oh, there were plenty being built and passed around but even under the Clintons...nobody really gave a hoot

Same with debanned Maddi and MAK90 AKs with butthole stocks

Don't misjudge this as encouragement it's just me telling you even in the 90s no one was enforcing this nonsence

Again, I go back to federal switchblade law
it remains a felony to transfer them in interstate commerace. Only legal sales are to LE, active military or one armed folks
Yet today they are rather pervasive in interstate trade.

So you think folks who deban a Century sporter are in a panic about whether their surplus inch mag has a US made floor plate. Think some, if you have even one unmodified mag you could be OMG, in constructive violation of 922r

I know what you saying but any reputable builder is not going to build or work on your rifle if not..

- US wood (3 parts)
- US hammer and sear (2 parts)
- US piston (1 part)
- US flash hider (1 part, that's your 7 US made total)

Build maybe not but work on yes they will. It is not the gunsmiths job or concern to verify 922 compliance. As not all US made parts are marked as such just how would the gunsmith know or why would he care about 922 if he is the builder.

Not all US made parts are marked as such.
Some foreign made parts are marked as "US".
As clear as mud in the realm of FALs.
Remember 922r impacts assembly/manufacture, not possession.
