Plus, I've only ever seen white flags issued with French rifles. They claimed it was a "field cleaning patch", but it was the size of a small bed sheet. That and their bipods were curiously called "surrender sticks".
Just ask the Swiss.

Like a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range?

Point of fact, the Schmidt-Rubins were inferior military arms to the Enfield, Garand, STG-44, and at best equal to the Mauser. The MP-41 was also an unnecessarily complicated SMG and no more effective than any of its simple blowback operated contemporaries. If Switzerland had ever had to go to war, she may well have wished for different weapons. Her neutrality and the fact that the Germans had plenty of other problems protected her more than her small arms.

Of course, having all of the male population from 18 to 45 with military arms at their immediate disposal plus all of the bridges and tunnel entering the country being mined may have helped dissuade an invader as well.

Hey, President Trump, are you listening?

So that's where they used the Type A bayonet (with prongs). There are lots of those bayonets over there, I always wondered what the heck they were used on.

The police rifles, at least those issued to recruits at the Police college in Pretoria, were Belgian rifles with long flashiders and used the Type B bayonet. Now the police officers at police stations had all kinds of Fals, R1's, paras, etc.

You mean like in Algiers where the French were wearing spandex 2 sizes too small huddling and crying because the Algerians pointed a mean finger at them? Or Indochine where Ho Chi Min single handed kicked them all out with one single slap? Or a certain 1990s plane hijacking where it took Americans carrying 1911s using boarding ladders as light cavalry to board the plane and kill all the terrorists?

You mean Indochine where Ho Chi Minh, Vo Nguyen Giap, and Le Duan gave our forces a steel-toed boot in the ass and whose successors still rule there? Oh, but the war was won for our side militarily. Right... because that matters. Seems the French record for counterinsurgency is similar to ours: 0 for 2 vs. 0 for 3, but they put much more hurt- comparatively speaking- on the FLN than we ever did on the VC/NVA, Iraqi insurgents, and the Taliban.

And, the French weren't in to form-fitting uniforms until after the Algerian War.

Not that it’s relevant to the STG’s military record, but the French also sent their navy to help us win our independence - which was very helpful considering that we didn’t have a navy at all. That navy cut off Cornwallis’ ability to get help from the sea or retreat from Yorktown that way, which in turn brought the US his surrender. And small towns all over the East are still named after Marquis de Lafayette. So before ya’ bash the French too hard, best remember who your friends are.

It was their siege guns that forced Cornwallis to surrender too. I've been to the Yorktown battlefield and it's pretty cool with some french guns and mortars in original positions.
