Question about FAL STANAG mount

Considering an argentine mount + hensoldt combo. My question is does this lose zero if i remove the cover for cleaning, if so, why..? how can I retain the zero while cleaning? new to optics so go easy.

If you are referring to the eye piece cover....No.
If you take the scope off the mount and remount it there is a slight possibility of movement.

It depends on how you define accuracy. Generally, if you remove the dust cover mount/scope combo and then reinstall it, no, your sight should be as zeroed as it was before you removed it. This applies to slide in mounts like ARMS and various military style mounts to include the Argentine mount you referenced.
If the FAL was a 1 MOA rifle then my answer might be different.

yeah, i was just told that if i took the mount/dustcover off that it would lose zero so i was just a bit confused by that. Also, does the argentine mount hold the best zero as far as STANAG mounting options go?

If you are thinking about buying one for a DSA para, DONT. They do not fit. Real para lowers have a groove that matches the Stanag mount.

The groove probably is there for this very reason, to ensure a more stable mount that will not lose zero.
