ABC said that he is a tea party member and refused to correct its preplanned story that Holder sent all networks on wed before the shooting.

Interesting take, don't know if it's University damage control, honest assessment or alittle bit of both. I found this quote interesting:

"Also, CBS News senior correspondent John Miller reported that the shooter had a hit ratio twice of what a police officer might have engaging with armed assailants in a street setting. That suggests that the suspect -- who is believed to have planned his assault with precision -- must have practiced shooting prior to the attack."

The douche purportedly used a shotgun with buckshot to start. That's 8 or 9 .38 caliber pellets at a time and it looked like an extended mag on the remmy if the pictures shown are accurate, so figure 7 to 9 rounds. Also, an open street is different than a croweded theater. He didn't even really have to aim with everyone sitting in nice neat rows.

Of course, the contrary view is that police are piss poor shots and don't practice. I think both interpretations may be accuarate here.

I would expect someone who planned well in advance to kill people to have a higher.....success rate (no good way to put that), then a cop that goes to work everyday without having to pull his gun maybe for years and then has to somewhat suddenly, probably in a panic.

There really is no comparison, the cops are trying to hit a specific target likely trying to take cover, without collateral damage. The shooter was able to use WW1 machine gun tactics where if you do not shoot too high or too low, you can't miss. Plus, a lot of them just kept siting there, (I heard).

I have wondered this very same thing. At the risk of sounding like a lunatic, well, he was trained and put up to it. Just too many damn coincidences

To be honest, it would've been better for the killer too. If he's nuts, then I doubt he can be helped and 50+ years in jail is going to be no picnic in any case. I always wonder why we take the shoelaces of violent prisoners - they'd be doing everyone a favor and our system is so slow in actually delivering justice and strangulation isn't an easy way to go.
