Here in Indiana I can legally carry a concealed handgun with my lifetime CHL. I can legally carry any kind of knife including a switchblade. But it is illegal to have on my person any kind of blackjack or a set of brass knuckles per the local cops....

And so it goes.

It's my understanding that across the nation, "Bludgeons" of any kind are strictly verboten... Though I'm sure someone with refute that... YMMV

My Papaw, who was an Illinois St Police Lt. in the 30's & 40's taught me how to use his Blackjack when I was a kid.

Rule 1: Always put strap around thumb and wrap around back of hand, never around your wrist. To a Bad Guy, he'll think you have it around your wrist. Bad guys grabbing Blackjack would control the arm if around the wrist. If BG grabbed Blackjack when strap was around thumb, easy to pull hand back hand to release Blackjack giving you time to draw your trusty pistol and shoot bad guy.

Rule 2: Never hit bad guy in head with Blackjack. Any decent hit will cause a skull fracture and possibly death.

Rule 3: Best results in subduing bad guy, hit on collar bone (BEST), wrist, hand, elbow or shoulder blade. Will result in broken bone and immense pain.

Rule 4: Keep in back pocket with just small loop of strap exposed for easy and quick access.
