I responded to the form for hats & bush shirts but "0" on the BDUs just because I am not holding out hope they will be made in sizes for us "full figured" commandos. If, however I am wrong I might actually take a set.

Responded as well.
No BDU's for me either, just the shirt and hat.

Rhodesian;

Form submitted and XL in the shirts, 33-34waist on the pants. Not sure sure how your sizing is going to run but I'm sure we'll find out!
Thanks,
Lance/BlindSpirit.

This is my first visit and post to FALfiles in years, but it is worth it for this project. I hope this effort comes to fruition. I will be in for 2 sets of BDUs.

Just an update on behalf of the OP. He is still trying to edit the pattern to have seamless borders (harder than it sounds) as well waiting on an associate in the UK to get an appointment with the Imperial War Museum for a scan of an original Rhodie uniform to get the true colors.

IIRC, as long as enough items are requested in a particular size, it will be produced

That's now been done. Sorry for taking so long. I've been busy with school, life, and work.

The pattern (4th version) we are now working with is as accurate as we'll ever get without seeing real Rhodesian camo fabric. The colors have been extracted as well.

My associate is now getting quotes for the first items to be produced using the pattern.

I won't say what it is for now since he'd rather it be a surprise.

It's not the official BDU set, bush shirt, or boonie hat, but it is a simple piece that is easy to find many manufacturers for and it's based on a historically used item. We should be getting quotes for that by the middle of next week.

Any chance that bulk fabric will be available?

I'd be interested in a couple of bush shirts, 2 to 3XL if the price is reasonable

I purchased a couple shirts from the last buy. I am very happy with the quality. Nice AMERICAN made shirts. Is there going to be another run. I would like another shirt and a hat.

At long last we finally have a physical item.

This is NOT the final cloth that will be used. There are a few issues, which you will see below.

I just received this test print today. It is printed on ripstop with metal rollers.

The photo below is a comparison between it and my originals.

As you can see, the green is far too opaque.

The green is printed over the brown, like the originals, and you can see the brown very faintly if you squint (and hold it up to a light).

I've also been told there is a scaling problem, but I cannot seem to find it since the vertical height (y direction) is almost perfect and a spot check of various horizontal (x-direction) lengths showed nothing out of tolerances.

It would be cool if we could get pants w/o cargo pockets. A bit more retro.

Form submitted. I've wanted a repro set of Rhodie camo for a while, so I don't have to try and wear my original set.

I'm glad to see this is still going on. If it ever comes to fruition I'll take a hat. And if you ever get that far... a bush jacket

They're supposed to ship this week.

There was a pre-order back in like August or so.

If you missed it, they're not going to produce any more after due to the high cost of production.

Edit: Got an email just today that they're receiving the batch from Atlanco end of this week.

That's a bummer. Am I the only one who missed the "pre-order" in August?
